Wow. the response to yesterday’s post is overwhelming! Thanks for visiting anyone who stopped by for the first time yesterday, I hope that maybe you enjoyed what you found and will visit again!
So the new job is going really well. I am absolutely loving going to work and making stuff all day, even if sometimes it’s stuff that I didn’t build myself. It’s still kind of like playing in the sandbox, just sometimes with someone else’s toys. I was super excited to have the opportunity to design the holiday card for the company this year. They said I could do anything I wanted, and that they wanted to emphasize our printing and design capabilities, so I kind of ran with it. The hats I illustrated myself, and it’s printed in metallic silver and metallic red on red duplex paper, with a spot varnish to create a very subtle pattern in the background (which is kind of hard to see in the photo). It’s one of the first projects of mine to go on press since my wedding invitation, and it was so fun to be able to use processes that I normally might not be able to use.
Thanks to today’s blizzard, the shop update that I had hoped for this week is good to go! I totally thought I had this blizzard’s number, by the way, after we shoveled out super early, I attempted to make my way to work since my neighborhood roads were plowed. However, I soon realized that I was the only person crazy enough to be out in a Honda Civic and that it was really a whole lot worse out there than I thought and that the blowing was just going to make it worse all day, and I turned back.
So anyway, I just got cards back from the printer, and am super excited about them and would love to share them with you. I know mailing time for Christmas cards is getting short, so any orders that include cards I will do my best to put in the post the next day, if possible. I’ve also got gift tags ready to go, and will include one set of tags free with any order of a 2010 Calendar or set of holiday cards! So head on over to the shop for my little holiday update, and have some hot cocoa while you’re there. I hear it’s really good with a dash of Kahlua in it!
