Thirsty For Yellow Thursday

Sarah mentioned yesterday about yellow week, that she’s suddenly becoming a huge fan of a color that never quite did it for her. That’s pretty cool, to be involved in something that opens up a new world of color for someone. I have felt that myself with these color weeks that float around blogland occasionally, and maybe it was part of my motivation to host one for this color.
Yellow has never been a big favorite of mine in the spectrum of color. I much prefer orange. And before orange there was the love affair that I had with green. But only the shades of yellowy, limey, or avocadoy green. I still love that color immensely. But yellow has been growing on me over the past few months, ever since I started seeing it paired with cool gray in design. Oh, that combination really makes me excited for some reason. And it’s really sneaking up there on my list. I wonder what color I will develop a higher love for next. Purple? Hard to imagine.

I love purple, I think it is so cool. It’ gothical, it’s groovy, it’s punky, it’s so everything. Are you gonna do it?

Your sentiments really speak to me…I must say yellow is a tricky color for me – I love curry yellows, honey yellows, but the citrus lemon yellow just escapes me…maybe because I am blonde and don’t look very good in that color…it makes me look yellow! Now purple, that is my least favorite color, that would be a challenge for me!

I have found your yellow week through raina and am loving it.thanks for hosting. yellow is a difficult colour and one that my grandmother was superstitious about in her old age. It’s good to look at colours again and to see how others percieve them.
i would not have a problem with purple so long as it is pale, heathery and soft… then it is my favourite colour!

yellow is so cheerful..tho’ i missed most of yellow week, i have two cheery yellow pix i took yesterday that i’ll post on my blog right now (julochka.blogspot.com), so count me in, at least for today!

I’ve been missing out on the yellow fun! I found you via Raian. It’s been such a treat to see everyone’s yellow. Like yourself, yellow has never been “my” color…I have a hard time living with yellow, so it’s not in my house or wardrobe. But seeing everyone’s yellow has given me a much better appreciation and open-mindness about the color. But give me pink, purple or blue any day! Happy Days
