Lions, and Tigers, and Bears!

Oh my!
On our weekly walk last weekend, I insisted that The Husband and i go by the zoo, my new haunt. I sort of like it there in the winter, when the visitors are sparse. It is a tad on the strange size, walking about, visiting the animals that are out, at such a strange time of year, but it is a little soothing at the same time.
We said hi to my favorites, the lions, who looked right at home on their cold rock, and of course the polar bears, and we learned some interesting psychological things about the chimpanzees. Chimps have always sort of creeped me out, with their humanoid expressions and intellect, but to learn that they look at certain images in magazines, and are attracted to specific colors, sort of brought them closer to my frame of reference.

That lion photo is awesome. I had so much fun taking photos at the zoo last time - especially the lions and the squirrel monkeys. We’re going again on Friday.
Love the polar bears. We don’t have them in Phoenix. Can’t understand why.

I have a lion tatooted on my left arm. It’s pretty cliche’ and lame, but I feel strength with it. I feel like I have more control of things. I also tune into hopeshow.tv every morning. Without those two, life would be too difficult.

Those big paws are awe-inspiring. And where are the elephants ? In the papers, of course. What were we thinking… what kind of elephant do you have in your head ? A funny one ? Or a soothing one, like my old friends ?
